A set of three black vases in handmade stoneware ceramics, wheel-thrown in Fernando Durao's workshop in Buenos Aires. Organic shapes of generous volume — bodies that expand and end in narrow necks that open upward, like a mouth that breathes. A tension between containment and openness that only the wheel can resolve so naturally. One-of-a-kind studio pieces, no molds, no series, never restocked.
The surface is worked with a black glaze of my own formula, fired at 1200°C (2192°F). The finish combines matte and satin areas that accentuate the movement of each form — three pieces different in size and proportion that live together with a visual coherence of their own.
