Moradores

Design Objects:
Moradores are figures. But not quite.
They start from a thrown vessel — that ancient, circular, repeated gesture — and at some point in the process they stop being a container and become a presence. The form twists, decides, and something appears that could be a body. Or not. That is completed by whoever looks at them.
Each sculpture in this series is a design object that works on the border between the functional and the purely artistic. They are human figures in the broadest sense: amorphous, minimalist, abstract. They have weight, they have posture, they occupy space in a way that vases do not. They live alongside quality architecture. They start conversations.
Fernando Durao makes them in high-temperature stoneware, with his own glazes developed in his workshop in Lanús. Each Morador is fired at 1200°C (2192°F). None repeats. The series is open — each piece is a new exploration within the same search.
For collectors, architects and interior designers who are looking for something more than decoration. A studio object with history, with substance, with a presence that is hard to ignore. Shipping to the United States is included in the price and takes about 15 business days, with reinforced packaging so it arrives in optimal condition. Import duties, if any, are paid by the buyer.
