Design Objects: Modern Sculptures and Studio Ceramics
Contemporary decor is not nourished by repetitive elements; it demands volumes that organize the space visually and give it character. In my workshop, the design object do not come from an industrial matrix but from my aesthetic search, the play of lines and direct improvisation on the potter's wheel.
If you are an interior designer, an industry professional, or looking for design objects for architects that give a project stature, or if you are simply an individual looking for a one-of-a-kind piece to transform your home, here you will find three-dimensional volumes that converse cleanly with natural light and architecture. Trios of pieces and sculptures that are truly handmade, and always different.

Handmade Ceramics Made on the Potter's Wheel
Each of my pieces, including sculptural collections such as the Moradores, I make entirely by hand. They are handmade stoneware ceramics fired at high temperature (1200°C (2192°F)), which creates a vitrified, dense structure that is unique in the finish of its textures.
For the finishes, I reject standardized components. I develop my own formulas of matte and satin glazes (based on feldspars and oxides), which I apply meticulously with a brush, achieving surfaces with organic textures that react in a unique way to natural light.

The technical distinction: the value of craft versus the mold
It is essential to draw a clear line in today's decor market. Today an enormous number of pieces are lightly labeled “handmade” when in fact they are identical replicas cast in plaster molds and made with low-fire clay bodies. They are generic objects, with no vibration, prone to cracking and lacking a conceptual language.
True potter's work is today a craft of resistance; few of us are left who keep this practice alive with dedication and effort. Working on the potter's wheel lets me interact with the inertia of the material so that every piece is always different. I'm not looking for the symmetrical uniformity of the industrial mold, but for the tension and singularity of every line. That variation is intentional, it is a sought-after value that comes from technical improvisation and mastery of the craft, and it is what separates a mass-produced utilitarian object from a true piece of studio ceramics meant to bring a unique presence to the architecture of a space.

Dimensions and series
Moradores Collection (Sculptures): Unique sculptural volumes of varying heights (between 20 cm (7.9 in) and 45 cm (17.7 in)) and organic diameters that come from improvisation on the wheel.

Unikas Black and Unikas Quartz Series: Design pieces with clean lines and finishes in satin and matte glazes of my own formulation.
