My name is Fernando Durao, and I have been a ceramicist and potter for more than thirty years. I make ceramic pieces from 10 cm (3.9 in) to 90 cm (35.4 in) in height, by hand on the potter's wheel and decorated by hand.

Why a handmade tall vase and not an imported one?
Handmade on the potter's wheel: tall pieces are the hardest to achieve without a mold — it is where craftsmanship shows the most.
Up to 90 cm (35 in) in height: it is the maximum size of my pieces.
Dense stoneware: a tall stoneware piece has real weight and stability. It doesn't tip over in a draft.
Never restocked: every tall piece that leaves the workshop is the only one with that combination of form and glaze.
